Writing Services
Our scientific writing services assist researchers in all steps of composition, from extensive editing to full preparation of academic grant applications, SBIRs, and research manuscripts.
In addition to these provisions, writing samples are reviewed by professional researchers with expertise in numerous specialties (e.g., cancer biology, metabolism, epidemiology, and others).
By providing research professionals with A to Z solutions we build long-term relationships with many of our clients while serving them with professional writing services through out their research careers.
What to expect from our writing service
We have been working in this field for over 10 years, and we know all the ins and outs of preparing scientific manuscripts. If possible, we will confer with you first, to make sure we are "on the same page." regarding specific strategies and methods.
All you need to do is provide us a rough draft (for editing), or an outline and set of data figures (for writing), and we will work hand-in-hand with you through every step of the process. When you submit the finalized manuscript, it will be professionally presented such as to best communicate your findings for the most favorable reception by reviewers.
Areas for which we provide services:
Academic Grant Writing
In addition to writing/editing research manuscripts, white papers, and other communications, we at Bioscience Advising also offer full writing and editing of academic research grant proposals.
By far, the most predominant of these is grant applications to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The NIH consists of 27 institutes and centers, each dedicated largely to specific diseases, of distinct organs.
In particular, these institutes/centers offer explicitly themed Program Announcement Referrals (PARs) or Requests for Funding Applications (RFAs), often three times per year ("cycles").
Alternatively, the NIH accepts investigator-initiated applications, unrelated to specific research initiatives.
Following submission of an application, it is assigned to a specific review panel, and evaluated for scientific merit. Overall, this process is complex and stressful. Having served on review panels and prepared/edited numerous such applications, we at Bioscience Advising will assist you in every step of the way, to maximize your chances of success.
Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants
One of our services at Bioscience Advising, fairly divergent from the others, is editing of SBIR applications. While all 15 cabinet-level executive departments of the U.S. government participate in the SBIR program, Bioscience Advising primarily focuse on the Departments of Health and Human Services and Department of Defense.
Here, we work hand-in-hand with small business entities to showcase the innovation and significance of your ideas, and how you will demonstrate their feasibility and prototype development. We also assist you in electronic submission of your application to the ASSIST (NIH), eBRAP (DoD), and FastLane (NSF) submission systems.
In assisting you with your SBIR submission, we will showcase your business, team, and the merit of realizing your innovative ideas.
Scientific Manuscripts Writing
It is a hard truth that even beyond outstanding research, scientific manuscripts must be written with special care to increase their chances of acceptance.
Moreover, it is now becoming even more difficult when publishing scientific manuscripts in high-quality scientific journals.
Even with masterful data, the scientific manuscripts must successfully convince all the reviewers of the research’s merit. Thus, you should keep in mind that all your outstanding research and effort must be communicated effectively, to be published in the best possible journal.
There is a growing consensus that, due to all the current time demands of researchers (combined with our present-day hypercompetitive research climate), scientific writing has recently decreased in quality.
When you hire Bioscience Advising, we will write, or extensively edit your scientific manuscripts, to maximize your chances of acceptance to your target journal.
